. . . Nordic Heritage Museum now offers a searchable, online portal!

As a new way to make our museum’s collections accessible to the public, Nordic Heritage Museum now offers a selection of collection catalog records with media from the Nordic Heritage Museum permanent collection through a searchable online portal.

These selections will include over 400 photograph print and negative records; 300 art and artifact collection records; 350 archive and rare book records; and over 100 selections of interviews from the Nordic American Voices (NAV) oral history program collection available as video and audio recordings as well as full transcripts.

In 2015, Nordic Heritage Museum partnered with the University of Washington Libraries - Special Collections to digitize approximately 100 films from the NHM collection in order to offer them online via the UW's Moving Images collection. Thanks to support from 4culture of King County, these films may now be viewed here online.
