Special Collections Archives

includes documents, letter correspondence, maps, films, posters, and machine-readable magnetic and optic media, such as oral history interviews and born-digital photographs

Nordic Heritage Museum has actively collected archival and printed materials on the Nordic immigrant experience since the Museum’s founding in 1979.

These materials are part of the Special Collections Archives and include documents, letter correspondence, maps, films, posters, and machine-readable magnetic and optic media, such as oral history interviews and born-digital photographs. Today these materials are used primarily for in-house exhibitions and research, by other organizations, the community, and scholars living in the Pacific Northwest.

The Special Collections Archives contains more than 32,000 items.
