Scandinavian music and dance!

Barneleikarringen invites young people to enjoy Scandinavian music and dance!

Students and parents learn fun folkdances from each of the five Nordic countries, followed by a participatory session of traditional music.  No prior experience necessary – all dances are taught!  Dances are geared for everyone ages 4 and up. We love it when parents, grandparents and friends dance with the kids.  Children also have the opportunity to take part in performances with the group at various locations.

The group is sponsored in part by Leikarringen and Leif Erikson Lodge 2-001.

We meet the second and fourth Sunday of each month, September through June, from 1:30-2:30 p.m., followed by social time until 2:45 p.m. and a music jam session from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Most practices are held at the Nordic Heritage Museum.
