What is Art? Join us this summer at the National Nordic Museum and find out! We’ll be spending the week exploring different styles of art and crafting our own masterpieces—come learn and create your own paintings, architecture, folk art, and more!

*This camp is intended for children ages 6-8. Questions? Please contact Kate Dugdale at kated@nordicmuseum.org.

Art Adventures include:

  • Projects inspired by Nordic artists including Hilma af Klint, John Savio, Edvard Eriksen, Nina Tryggvadottir, Trondur Pattursson, and more! Using these Nordic artists as inspiration, we’ll work on a variety of art styles including collage, print making, and sculpture.
  • The Nordic countries are well known for their commitment to sustainability! Using that as inspiration, we’ll put on a recycled fashion show! Campers will design, build, and model their look using recycled materials from around the museum.
  • Campers will work on Nordic folk art projects, including dala horses, papercutting, woven hearts, rosemaling, and weaving! For these projects, we’ll be inspired by Nordic folk art on display in our galleries and from our hands-on objects in our teaching collection.
