Alvar Aalto’s Jyväskylä by Janne Tuunanen
Finnish photographer Janne Tuunanen explored famed architect Alvar Aalto’s early projects in their shared Finnish hometown Jyväskylä. Aalto’s renown was cemented by his later works of industrial and architectural design, but his hometown boasts his early and often overlooked work. Tuunanen wanted to bring attention to Jyväskylä and photograph the locations from a different angle.

Jónsi
In 2023, the National Nordic Museum will present an immersive artwork created by Jónsi (Jón Þór Birgisson), lead singer of the world-famous Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. Created specifically for the Museum, the artwork will be the focus of Jónsi’s first museum exhibition in the United States.
