Nordics in Hollywood: Snow Falling on Cedars (1999)



Nordics in Hollywood is back with Snow Falling on Cedars (1999)! Based on the best-selling book by local author David Guterson, Snow Falling on Cedars (1999) stars legendary Swedish actor Max von Sydow in this drama that follows an American journalist and World War II veteran who takes a special interest in a racially motivated murder trial involving a former lover in the Pacific Northwest.

Film Rating: PG-13. All films in the Nordics in Hollywood series will be played with English subtitles.

Enjoy Snow Falling on Cedars under the stars at the National Nordic Museum. The film will be screened behind the Museum, in our parking lot. Please bring family and friends, as well as folding chairs or something soft to serve as your seats. Pop's Popcorn will be on site for snacking during the film! Screening will begin at sunset, approximately 8:45 pm. Come early (seating will open around 8:15 pm) and enjoy a trivia game (8:25 pm)! Please note that start times are dependent on the sunset. If raining, this movie will be held in Osberg Great Hall.
