    The National Nordic Museum is located in central Ballard, easily accessible via the Ballard Bridge or Highway 99. Our parking lot is conveniently located behind the building.

    1. The National Nordic Museum’s paid parking lot is located on the south side of the building and can be accessed from the corner of NW Market St and 28th Ave NW. Parking starts at $2.00 (plus taxes and fees), and must be paid at the parking kiosks located at the base of the stairs or online via Premium Parking(Opens an external site in a new window).

      Alternative parking options are available along NW Market Street, in the residential neighborhoods surrounding the Museum, and at the Hiram Chittenden Locks parking lot—a five-minute walk to the Museum.

  • By Bus 🚌

    Metro bus routes 17 and 44 have stops immediately adjacent to the Museum, at NW Market St & 28th Ave NW. Ballard is also serviced by Metro bus 40 and the D Line.

    The National Nordic Museum is located along the Burke Gilman Trail—one of King County's best-known regional trails! 

    This fully paved, 20-mile recreational trail stretches from Shilshole Bay to Bothell. The Burke Gilman winds through Ballard, Fremont, the University District, and along Lake Washington, connecting north Seattle to its growing northeastern suburbs.

    The Museum is located on NW Market Street â€” just steps away from the shops, restaurants, and bars of central Ballard. We encourage you to explore the rest of the neighborhood alongside your trip to the Museum. 

    The neighborhood is especially lively during the Ballard Farmer's Market on Sundays, or on sunny days at the nearby Hiram M. Chittenden Locks.
