Visiting the Museum

  • Walk ins are always welcome, but we encourage you to purchase your ticket online before the day of your visit to save $2 on your admission fee. 

    *Please note that some of our community access discounts are available to redeem in-person only.

  • Your admission fee is good for the whole day, allowing you to leave and return to the galleries with proof of purchase.

Free and Discounted Admissions 

  • On the first Thursday of every month, general admission to the National Nordic Museum is free for all visitors! General admission includes access to all our permanent exhibitions. 

    *Please note that entry to our rotating special exhibition is a $5 charge on Free First Thursday.

  • As a participant in the Museums For All program, the National Nordic Museum offers free admission to all visitors with public assistance identification cards. 

    Show your WIC, EBT, SNAP, Medicaid, ProviderOne/Apple Health, or Registered Foster Family identification at the Admission Desk to receive free general admission for up to 5 people per card.

  • Seattle Public Library card holders can reserve a free Museum Pass by visiting SPL's Museum Pass Program website. Each pass admits up to two people to the National Nordic Museum.

    *Please note that the SPL Museum Pass Program is temporarily paused as of Dec. 31, 2024.

  • Teenagers (13-19 years old) can sign up for a free Teen Tix pass that enables them to visit the National Nordic Museum and other Seattle-area arts organizations for just $5. Teen Tix admission is available online — please bring your Teen Tix pass for verification at the Admission Desk.

    College students can purchase reduced admission online or in-person on the day of their visit. Please be ready to show your school ID upon check-in at the Admission Desk.

  • Seniors (age 65+) are eligible for $4 off admission. Additionally, Gold Card holders (age 60+) can bring their card to our Admission Desk for 2-for-1 tickets, or 50% off one ticket.

  • The Museum offers discounted admission to FLASH (Fun Leisure Access Savings and Health) Card holders. Show your card at our Admission Desk for 2-for-1 tickets, or 50% off one ticket.

  • Teachers are eligible to receive 50% off one admission ticket per valid Educator ID. Please bring your ID to the Admission Desk to redeem this offer.

  • Veterans and active military personnel are eligible for 2-for-1 admission tickets, or 50% off a single ticket. Please show your military ID at the Admission Desk for this discount.

  • AAA members are eligible for 2-for-1 admission tickets, or 50% off a single ticket. Please visit the Admission Desk to redeem this offer.

  • The National Nordic Museum is a part of the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association. We offer free admission to members of any NARM Member Institution at the membership level of your home museum (Individual, Family, etc.) Be sure to bring your NARM Membership card to redeem this offer at our Admission Desk.

  • We love when fellow museum professionals visit us! Show your employee name tag or ID at the Admission Desk for one free ticket to the Museum.
