To mark the opening of Anne-Karin Furunes: Illuminating Nordic Archives, the groundbreaking artist Anne-Karin Furunes will discuss her large-scale paintings with National Nordic Museum Chief Curator Leslie Anderson. 

Furunes's work brings forth photographic records in Nordic archival collections to shed light on forgotten past and uncertain future. Among the topics explored are the source material, artistic intent, and innovative technique of her work. 

Anne-Karin Furunes: Illuminating Nordic Archives is the first exhibition of the artist's work in a US museum in over a decade, and it is second-ever exhibition in a US museum.
