Join us for a Late Thursday screening of the second film in director Joachim Trier's Oslo trilogy, Oslo, August 31st (2011), which features early performances from Anders Danielsen Lie and Renate Reinsve.

Film Synopsis

A recovering drug addict is granted a day’s leave from rehab and returns to Oslo, where he reconnects with friends, faces the weight of his past, and struggles with uncertainty about his future. Over the course of one day, he drifts through encounters that reflect his longing for connection and his deep sense of alienation.

    Norwegian filmmaker Joachim Trier (born March 1, 1974 in Copenhagen, Denmark) earned international acclaim for his film Oslo, August 31st, which premiered at Cannes. In 2021, Cannes premiered The Worst Person in the World and star Renate Reinsve won the festival’s best actress award. The actress reunited with the filmmaker for the 2025 Sentimental Value.
