This 2-hour sensory-focused class in Discovery Park will guide you through the practice of forest bathing. Take a morning to slow down and mindfully connect with the nature around you.

Join the National Nordic Museum and Cascadia Forest Therapy for a unique guided forest bathing opportunity in Discovery Park.

Forest bathing is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. In Japan it is called "shinrin yoku," which translates to "forest bathing." Studies have demonstrated a wide array of health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition. Essentially, forest bathing is a deep sensory immersion experience.

In a forest bathing session we slow down and, through an evolving series of sensory-focused invitations, mindfully interact with the world around us. The guide holds space for each person to arrive at a relationship with the Earth in their unique way while occasionally offering opportunities to witness our shared connection to nature.

    Cascadia Forest Therapy

Incorporated in 2021, Cascadia Forest Therapy is a small not for profit organization dedicated to growing the regional culture of nature connection by ensuring accessibility to guided forest therapy experiences. We aim to be Cascadia bioregion's most trusted source for ethically and professionally guided forest therapy. Organized as a member self-directed co-op, we are growing slowly (like the forest) as we work to realize a mycelial network of humans on ancestral Coast Salish land that offer nature connection opportunities to their communities, promote cultural repair, and model the re-storying of the relationships between humans and the earth.
