Papercutting is often a medium that requires patience and precision. But what happens when we loosen up and work free-hand? That's exactly what we'll be exploring in this class, getting more comfortable with using papercutting as a meditative, abstract practice that helps us facilitate a flow state. Inspired by Jónsi, throughout this class we’ll spend time feeling the sounds and smells of his immersive installation, and then create free-hand papercuts. This class will center on letting go and creating, using the exhibition and some artistic prompts to guide the experience. Materials will be provided.
