Join teaching artist Kayla Ann for a morning of needlefelting holiday ornaments. Students will learn the basics of needlefelting while creating a one-of-a-kind felted ornament to celebrate the holiday season. This class is perfect for beginners looking to learn more about needlefelting, craft, and Nordic culture, and to create a holiday gift perfect for loved ones or decorating the home! Students will leave with a finished project in hand and knowledge to continue needlefelting outside of class. All materials will be provided by the instructor.

Kayla Ann is a Seattle based artist and designer known for her playful print designs, colorful illustrations, and her endless love of plants and flowers. She blends elements from the natural world and vintage-inspired motifs to create surface pattern designs, illustrations, and murals. Her signature style combines sketches with pops of color, creating moments of joy that bring awareness to our innate connection with nature.

Kayla Ann

Kayla Ann is a Seattle based artist and designer known for her playful print designs, colorful illustrations, and her endless love of plants and flowers. She blends elements from the natural world and vintage-inspired motifs to create surface pattern designs, illustrations, and murals. Her signature style combines sketches with pops of color, creating moments of joy that bring awareness to our innate connection with nature.

In addition to her design practice, Kayla is an established teaching artist in the Minneapolis and Seattle handcraft community with over 8 years experience. She teaches nordic handcrafts, focusing on fiber arts, such as needle/wet felting, block printing, and embroidery, as well as traditional techniques in wire art (luffarslöjd) and kolrosing (etching in wood).
