The Largest Syttende Mai Celebration Outside of Norway 🎉
The earliest recorded 17th of May celebrations in Seattle were held in 1889. By 1901, Ballard's Norwegian-American residents were hosting a parade, and the celebration of Norwegian Constitution Day has grown from there to include the entire neighborhood and city! The festivities in Seattle are the largest outside of Oslo and Bergen.

Walking with Us in the Parade? Here's What You Need to Know:
Finding Our Group 🔍
All parade groups will be meeting up on the north side of Adams Elementary on 62nd street between 28th Ave and 24th Ave. There will be several groups lining up in sequential order, so plan to arrive with plenty of time to find the National Nordic Museum group. We are group number 25 in the parade.
Check in by 3:30pm 🕒
Please plan to be checked in by 3:30pm. The parade begins at 4:00pm. Ballard is bustling on Syttende Mai, so please keep in mind that it may take a considerable amount of time to find parking and to find our group.
