Nordic Cocktail Party

with acclaimed chefs Magnus Nilsson and Matt Dillon

We're pleased to welcome acclaimed Swedish chef Magnus Nilsson, the leading authority on Nordic culinary culture, for an exclusive Friday evening cocktail reception celebrating his first appearance in our new facility! Nilsson will be joined by renowned Seattle chef Matt Dillon, winner of the James Beard Award, who will design a menu and specialty cocktails inspired by Nilsson's latest release The Nordic Baking Book. Don't miss this rare opportunity to engage directly with these unique culinary talents!

For his latest project, The Nordic Baking Book (Phaidon), the follow-up to his bestselling The Nordic Cookbook, Magnus Nilsson traveled throughout his native region collecting more than 450 recipes from food experts, professional bakers, historians, and local home cooks, to compile the definitive guide to Nordic baking.

Described by The New York Times as being “fanatical in his devotion to Nordic cuisine,” Magnus Nilsson is the head chef of Fäviken Magasinet restaurant in Sweden. He is featured in the Emmy Award-winning US PBS TV series, Mind of a Chef, and the Netflix documentary series, Chef’s Table

Matt Dillon is chef at numerous acclaimed Seattle restaurants, including Sitka & Spruce and Bar Ferdinand on Capitol Hill. He is a 2012 James Beard Award winner in the Northwest category.

Nordic Museum is proud to serve Krogstad Aquavit at this event!

Cost: With signed copy of The Nordic Baking Book, $80 for Members, $90 general admission. Without book, $60 for Members, $70 general admission. All tickets include two cocktail drink tickets and assorted appetizers.
