A Crafting Weekend Celebrating 200 Years of Norwegian Immigration to the United States
In 1825, the ship Restauration left Stavanger, Norway to sail to the United States. This year marks the 200th Anniversary of that sailing, the first organized emigration of Norwegians to the United States. This bicentennial anniversary is being celebrated across both the United States and Norway, as a moment that indelibly changed the future of both countries.
Celebrate in Ballard with a weekend of crafts, October 24 - 26
Crafts are an important part of Norwegian cultural heritage. As part of the 200th anniversary of the Restauration arriving in New York in October 1825, the National Nordic Museum has crafted (pun intended!) a weekend of crafting workshops at the Musuem.
Come to meet other crafters, learn something new, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Norwegian craft-making!
