Join instructor Christin Curran at the Museum for an in-person workshop in Nålebinding, the ancient textile technique used by the Vikings! Registration includes materials kits. 

About Nålebinding:

Nålebinding, also known as needlebinding or “Viking knitting,” is an ancient fiber craft that predates knitting by over seven thousand years. Nålebinding fragments have been found all over the world, including numerous Viking settlement excavations. 

Class Details:
  • Supplies: Nålebinding needle and wool yarn are included in class fees.
  • Techniques: Learn how to make a start, stitch basics, notation, and working in the round.
  • Finished Object: Leave the class with a finished wrist warmer or small pouch, and knowledge to continue at home!
