Learn mosaic basics and create a piece inspired by Ballard’s historic blue and white tiled street signs.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you will learn the basics of creating a tiled mosaic from start to finish. While your piece will be inspired by the design of the tiled signs lining much of old Ballard, you are welcome to get creative with the concept for your finished mosaic!

This program is presented concurrently with our special exhibition, A Ballard Story: Pacific Fishermen, on display until February 28th, 2027.

For this workshop, you may choose to add a guest to your experience!

Please note that if you select the "Guest Add-On" option, you will be sharing mosaic supplies and will create one piece to take home. If you would like to create two mosaics, please purchase two General Admission or Member tickets.

A Ballard Story: Pacific Fishermen

October 9, 2026 — February 28, 2027

A Ballard Story explores the history, resilience, and ongoing evolution of Seattle’s maritime industries through the story of Pacific Fishermen, Inc. — one of Ballard’s last working shipyards and a living symbol of the neighborhood’s working waterfront.
