In honor of Earth Day and our core value of sustainability, we are pleased to open our doors with free admission to all visitors on April 22.
Our LEED Gold-certified building was built to showcase the Nordic love of the outdoors in its architecture, by bringing the outdoors inside. 🌳
Throughout the Museum we celebrate how the Nordic people and their descendants in the Pacific Northwest built their livelihoods from some of the most rugged conditions on Earth— and how they are now working to protect them.
Admission includes access to the special exhibition Anne-Karin Furunes: Illuminating Nordic Archives, which includes an exploration of the fragility of nature, inspired by the historic and recent photography of glaciers in Svalbard. 🏔️
