Join us under the stars at the Museum for The Witches (1990), the second installment in our "Nordics in Hollywood" series!

Join us for The Witches (1990), the second film in our "Nordics in Hollywood" series. Famed Swedish actress Mai Zetterling stars in this adaptation of Roald Dahl's novel of the same name. Enjoy this family-friendly (PG) cult classic produced by The Muppets creator Jim Henson. Further Nordic connections include one of the filming locations (Norway). The film will be screened behind the Museum, in our parking lot. Please bring family and friends, as well as folding chairs or something soft to serve as your seats. A food truck will be onsite for snacking during the film. We will open the parking lot for seating at 7pm, and there will be a trivia contest!

About the film: In this fantastical film, a young boy on holiday with his grandmother stumbles upon a convention of witches intent on ridding the world of children. He must stop them, even after he is transformed into a mouse.

About the series: Launching in 2022, "Nordics in Hollywood" celebrates the contributions of Nordic and Nordic American actors and directors to American cinema. Films that represent different genres and periods are selected and presented free of charge. Please reserve your space in advance.
