Ginny Ruffner: Project Aurora
Ballard-based artist Ginny Ruffner's monumental Project Aurora has found its permanent home at the National Nordic Museum! A wall of light 20’ in height and aided by artificial intelligence, the installation evokes the Aurora Borealis as its undulations mimic the unpredictability of the natural phenomenon. The work was created in collaboration with technologist Ed Fries and scholar Wanda Gregory.

Northwest Trolls: Way of the Bird King
Danish artist and activist Thomas Dambo transforms trash into treasure, creating public sculptures that beautify their surroundings. The National Nordic Museum will be one of six sites for "Northwest Trolls: The Way of the Bird King."
